It was another productive, fun year for RWYS Quilting Phx. Various programs included care for one’s sewing machine by Terry Pyland, learning how to make the self-binding receiving blanket and the important use of the iron in quilting. Additional projects included a mystery quilt and completion of the Beautiful Threads top. During Christmas in July (which was actually held in August) members made project bags and a table runner. In September, 53 women returned to Bison Ranch for the annual retreat. Over the entire year, over 1000 quilts were completed and turned in for distribution to various organizations in November.
Reap What You Sew Quilting Ministry held their 25th annual Quilts Distribution Night at First Christian Church of Phoenix.
The following nonprofit organizations received handmade quilts…
- Arizona Reservation Ministries
- Banner Thunderbird Hospital NICU
- Christian Family Care
- Dignity Health-St Joseph’s Hospital NICU
- Foothills Food Pantry and Resource Center
- Foster Alliance
- Gigi’s Playhouse
- Hope Women’s Center
- Hospice of the Valley
- US Vets
- West Valley Community Pantry
- Women’s Army Corps
